Regional governor Vasily Orlov said, citing initial information, that there were 43 passengers on board, including five children. In addition, there were six crew members on board.

The Emergency Management Ministry said there were about 40 people on board. Meanwhile, the Interfax news agency quoted Russian emergency services officials as saying that the wreckage of the plane was found on a hill about 15 kilometers (10 miles) from the city of Tunda.
